The organization will largely focus on efforts to raise awareness, as well as funds, for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. My family and I are grateful for all that we have been blessed with, and giving back -- however we can-- is a mainstay of our long-term goals. In establishing The JNN Foundation, we intend to make a difference with causes that have hit close to home for us, says McLean. The press conference will also initiate the first fundraising efforts of the newly established JNN Foundation. 500 fans will be able to purchase tickets to the May 24th press event at Hard Rock Live for a minimum $5.00 donation, with all proceeds benefiting the JNN Foundation. Howie has recruited fellow BSBs Nick Carter and AJ McLean to perform at the event which takes place on 1 June at the Hard Rock Live at Universal Studios' City Walk in Orlando, Florida. Other artists performing at the show include Marc Anthony, Jon Secada, Deborah Gibson and legendary songwriter Carole King. The show is very much a family affair and will also feature appearances by Nick Carter's brother Aaron, Howie D's sister Pollyanna and his niece, Chelsea Herring. The following day, 2 June, guests will be treated to a dinner, a silent auction, a private show with Shamu the killer whale and a private concert with Howie D and his band at the nearby Sea World. The auction will include items donated by pop stars, celebrities and athletes. Howie Dorough formed the Dorough Lupus Foundation shortly after his sister died of the disease. The non-profit organization raises money for lupus research, education and financial assistance for those living with lupus who cannot afford treatment. Tickets for the 1 June concert are $175 while those for the 2 June auction and dinner are $150. The concert, which is spreading over two days for the first time in its three-year history, is sponsored by radio station KIIS-FM. The June 16 lineup includes the Backstreet Boys, Moby, Martin, Jessica Simpson, Nelly Furtado, Joe, Krystal and Shaggy. The June 17 bill features Aerosmith, Dream, Vertical Horizon and American Hi-Fi and the Bee Gees. The event will be held at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, and organizers said more artists will be announced this week. *~*~Backstreet Boys To Play Live On 'Today'~*~* (posted April 17, 2001) NEW YORK Early birds catch the worms, and this year they'll also be able to catch live performances from 'NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Lopez and Destiny's Child on NBC's "Today" show. Those artists, as well as Ricky Martin, Sugar Ray, Shaggy and a host of others are slated to participate in the sixth annual "Today" Summer Concert Series, a 22-week string of free, televised concerts staged outside the midtown Manhattan studios of NBC-TV's "Today" program.
